Is there a county seat in Dickson County, Tennessee, or any location I can visit to obtain birth and death county records? I’m planning a trip from Saint Louis, MO at the end of August. Can anyone lead me in the right direction for genealogy research? Thanks.

My great-grandfather, Philip Henry Deason, married Martha C. Mathis in 1865 in Dickson County. I believe they lived in the Yellow Creek area. They had 16 children together and she later married Babe Street. I have a photo of PH holding a “hound dog”, it is obviously cut from a larger photo. Does anyone have the complete photo? I will attempt to list it in the photo section under PH Deason. Thank youBetty Hamilton

We are trying to trace our ancestors. We have been told that o­n our mothers sides heritage is that of the CHEROKEE indian. Anyone out there have a clue or might be able to help/assist and answer a few questions, Five ladies and their growing families would love to know. Thanks~
