Notes o­n Benjamin:

  • oldest child of John and Peggy Turner Adams
  • preceeded his wife Nancy in death by a number of years
  • buried in the family graveyard across from Jewell Cave
Notes o­n Nancy:
  • known as “Nancy Ben” Adams
  • lived to the age of 82
  • In 1983 there were people living who remembered her faintly as a very elderly lady living alone in a log house o­n East Fork Branch above the present Billy White place near Ruskin Cave. *
  • Father : John Reynolds, b. 1742, d. 1830
  • It is said that in 1896, when Nancy died, the graveyard was o­n land then owned by the Ruskin Socialistic Colony” and they refused to permit her to be buried there. They stated that in the future, o­nly Ruskinites would be allowed to be buried there.
  • Nancy is buried in the Edgewood Cemetery o­n Yellow Creek.
