Jechonias Street

Jechonias Street known as “Jack” Street in some records was born in 1814 and died 1885. His wife, Elizabeth V. (Jennie) Adams, born 1815, was the daughter of John Adams and “Peggie” Turner of Yellow Creek. The name Jechonias is derived from the bible. Born in North Carolina, Jechonias came to Tennessee with his parents, Moses and Ailsey Street and his three brothers, David B. , Abram, and Moses Brown Street. It is believed that Jechonias and Jenny Adams Street are buried in unmarked graves in the Street-Ruskin Cemetery o­n Yellow Creek.
