Workman Cemetery

Two small cemeteries o­n the top of a hill in a wooded area about 2 miles west of downtown Cumberland Furnace o­n property owned at the time by a Mr. Donald Killian. A distant cousin Mr. Eugene Higdon took me to them o­n May 22, 1985.

Tom E. Hagewood born – Nov 18, 1854 died – July 30, 1907 “A dear loven husban an father no goodbyes in heaven meat me thare ware we can liv together with God made by H. T. Hagewood”

Wille Gladys Workman
born Mar 24, 1911
died June 20 1912
(this child was my grandmothers baby sister who fell off the porch of the “John Brown House” while the rest of the family was working in the field)

On the other side of a fence are the following graves:

1) Irean Jones Jan 13, 1913 – Nov 20, 1917 At Rest
2) Margie Ann Davis Nove 23, 1934 – Feb 16, 1936
3) William Davis Aug 24, 1924 – Aug 10, 1925
4) Mabel Christine Hooper May 30, 1915 – Jan 2, 1933
5 Floy T. Bishop Sept 24th, 1919 – Dec 26, 1920
6) W. T. Wall Age 85 Yrs
