THOMAS J. RICHARDSON was born Abt. 1760 in Maryland, and died 1816 in Dickson co., TN. He married first wife is unknown. She was born Abt. 1765. He married his second wife WINNEFRED “WINNIE” .

Winnie died in 1855 in Dickson co., TN. Thomas’ will was dated May 20, 1816. The Will notes per Genealogy Death Records Search Results on line – “Wife; Winnefred, kids, Tom, Francis (dau.), Eliza Tatum, Margaret Blount, and mentions Sally Walker. Will dated 20 May 1816. Thomas Richardson was born on the east shore of Maryland. His son Thomas and two oldest daughters were in NC ca 1790, then the family moved to Tennessee. The son Thomas, was born in 1803 in NC and married to Jaurana Jane Willey. Winnefred appears to be a second wife. The older children are not mentioned in her will. WINNEFRED “WINNIE” was adminsitrator for Thomas estate when he died in 1816. On 1820 federal census for Tennessee, Dickson county, as Winnifred Richardson with 1 male bet. 10-16, 1 female bet. 10-16 (Nancy), and 1 female bet. 26-45 (self). Also three slaves, 2 males and 1 female). On 1830 federal census for Tennessee, Dickson county, as Winefred Richardson with 1 male under 5 yrs (Thomas Coleman), and 1 female bet. 50-60 yrs (self). Next door to her step-son Thomas Richardson family (Thomas is bet. 20-30 yrs.) On 1840 federal census for Tennessee, Dickson county, as Winniford Richardson, with 1 male bet. 5-10yrs (Thomas Coleman), 1 male bet. 15-20 yrs., and 1 female bet. 60-70 yrs.(self). Winnefred was also made administrator to the will of Austin Richardson who was born about 1770 and may be brother or cousin of Thomas Richardson. Austin was born in Culpepper Co VA and married Aminta Johnson in Greene Co TN about 1800. Austin died in 1835 in Dickson county, Tennessee. An tree for Austin shows a “Winnie Richardson” as his second wife, so maybe she married him between 1831-1835.

Winnefred Richardson’¡Çs will & testament.
Know all whom those present may concern that I Winifred Richardson of the County of Dickson and State of Tennessee being of sound mind and disposing memory and being desirous of making a disposition by will of the Worldly estate of which I am possessed or may be possessed do make publish and constitute this my last will and testament in manner and form following, to wit:
First-I bequeath my soul to God who gave it, and my body to my friends to be buried in a descent and Christian manner.
Item 2nd- It is my will and desire that after my death my Executors herein after named pay all my just debts and funeral expenses and of the first money that may come into his hands belonging to my Estate.
Item 3rd- I give and bequeath to my daughter Sally Walker one feather bed and furniture and one bureau and having provided for her amply heretofore by Deed of Gift and otherwise this is all that I give her in this item of my will.
Item 4th- I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Elizabeth Jane Walker, one good feather bed, stead and furniture, and fifty dollars in money which bequest I have made in consequence of her misfortune, to her and her heirs forever.
Item 5th- I give and be3queath to Emily Hulissis and Sarah Berry the children of my Daughter Nancy Berry, twenty dollars each and if either of them should die before they reach maturity those of them that survive shall heir the same.
Item 6th- I give and bequeath to Erbin H. and Rufus C. Lain, fifty acres of land adjoining the lands of John F Willey on the Head Waters of Barton’¡Çs Creek and should either of them die with out a child or children before they arrive at the age of 21 years then the said fifty acres of land will belong to the surviving and should they both die before they arrive at age, while a child or children then the said land will descend to their half brother and sisters, to them and their heirs forever.
Item 7th- I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Vinna my Sugar Chest to her and her heirs forever.
Item 8th- I give and bequeath to my Grandson Thos. J R Coleman my negro woman, Milly and one bed and furniture to him and his heirs forever.
Item 9th- It is my will that all the rest and residue of my property to be sold on a credit of 12 months and after paying the foregoing special legacies, my executors will pay my daughter Sally Walker twenty Dollars, and the balance is to paid over to my said Grandson Thomas J R Coleman.
Lastly- I do hereby nominate and appoint my trusted friend Thos. McNeilly my ececutor of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all other Wills by me at any time heretofore made. In testimony whereof I hereunto set my had and affix my seal this 23rd day of June 1855.

ELIZABETH RICHARDSON, b. 16 Sep 1796, NC; d. 12 Aug 1861, Hunt co., Texas; m. WILLIAM JR. TATOM, Bet. 1815 – 1817; b. Bet. 1790 – 1794, North Carolina; d. 30 Sep 1844, Johnson co., Arkansas. ELIZABETH RICHARDSON: On 1850 Johnson county, Arkansas, HorseHead township, dwelling 101/103, federal census as Elizabeth Tatom, age 53, born in NC, with sons Alferd, age 23, farmer, born in Tenn.; Morean, age 17, farmer, born in Tenn.; and Felix, age 16, farmer, born in Tenn. Next door is George and Sarah Tatom with daughters Georgia Ann and Nancy. On Feb. 8, 1850, She bought from Daniel Farmer & his wife Margarete Farmer (former wife of William R. Tatum, deceased) 80 acres situated in Johnson county, AR described as “the East half of the North West quarter of Section Seventeen in Township nine North, of Range twenty four West.” The price was $150, per Johnson county, TX Deed Book H, p. 155. Property of this same description was originally obtained in a GLO Land Grant to William Richardson Tatom of Johnson county, AR on July 10, 1844. On May 6, 1853, she sold to Edward Curtis for $120 the property in the above paragraph, per Johnson county, TX Deed Book H, p. 156. Edward Curtis was husband of Rebecca Tatom, daughter to Elizabeth Totom. On 1860 Hunt county, Texas census, page 287, at Tidwell Creek, household 133/145, as Elisabeth Tatum, age 60, personal estate value of $250, born in NC, with Marion R. age 27 farmer, personal estate value of $100, born TN; Feliz J. age 24, farmer, real estate value of $450 and personal estate value of $150, born in TN; and Nicy E. age 10, born in AR. ELIZABETH RICHARDSON is Buried at Nicholson cemetery, Hunt co., TX. THOMAS A. RICHARDSON, b. 10 Jan 1803, NC; d. 1874, Marion, Illinois; m. (1) LAURA JANE “RAINEY” WILLEY, 1820, Tennessee; b. They moved to Johnson County, Arkansas and on to Marion County Ill. On 1860 census for Illinois, Marion county, as Thomas Richardson, age 57 born in NC, farmer, with wife Nancy, age 43 born in TN, with daughter Eliza E., age 18 born in ILL, with Margaret, age 19 born in ILL, with James D., age 14 born in ILL, with Emily C., age 11 born in ILL, with George L, age 7 born in ILL. Next door is son William M. Richardson, age 24 born in ILL, farmer, with wife Harriet, age 20 born in ILL, with George, age 1 born in ILL and with Emily Ann Farthing, age 3 born in ILLinois. (Margaret was not on 1850 census with the family). On 1870 census for Illinois, Washington county, as Thomas Richardson, age 67 born in NC, farmer, with Nancy, age 47 born in TN, with Emily C., age 22 born in IL, and with George L., age 17 born in IL.

Children of THOMAS RICHARDSON and WINNEFRED ? are SALLY3 RICHARDSON, b. 1810, Dickson co., TN; m. JOHN WALKER; b. 1801, NC. On 1850 census for Tennessee, Montgomery county. Living next door is John, age 60, born in TN and Nancy, age 68, Walker and famiy. Next door to them is Mastern, age 40, born in TN and Mourning, age 30, Walker and family.
