Dickson-Online

I am of the middle Tennessee Davis family of Dickson County. I have traced my family line back to Huldah (Huldy) Davis, but cannot trace the line back any further.

My problem is this; Huldah Davis did not appear to be married, she bore children from 1829 through 1841, yet there is no record of a husband in any of the census records (1830 – 1860). Her children were as follows:

Nelson Davis (b)1832 (d) 1886 married Rebecca Francis Harvey
Samuel Houston Davis (b)1834 (d) 1902 married Etry E. Spradlin
Malissa Davis (b)1837 (d)? Married William Grimes
Jackson B. Davis (b) 1841

Is there anyone who has any knowledge of Huldah? I know she is buried in the Davis cemetery on Soul’s Chapel Road, but other than that I am at a standstill on the Davis’.
