Looking for Grandfather and other Pendergrasses

by admin on February 22nd, 2003

My name is Jacqueline Lea Pendergrass, Chamberlain, Reyes and I am looking for information re: my Dad’s side of the family. I have reason to believe that they started in or near Dickson, TN.

(Even though my cousin who called himself doing the family tree misspelled Dickson, spelling it, “Dixon.” He also misspelled my middle name, Lea, spelling it, “Lee.”) I see a definite family resemblance, o?ne of the characteristics most notable is: not having much in the way of lips and a very serious, somber expression and the men most often being slender.

The record my cousin submitted is Volume 11, Family Tree # 3159 of the World Family Tree. It begins with: Mackey Dorrie Pendergrass, born April 20, 1874 in : Dixon, TN, married in 1918 in Obion County, TN, died July 30, 1940 in Dixon, TN. It states that his father was: William Enzley Pendergrass and his mother was: Martha Elender Weems. Any information you have o?n this would be appreciated and as I learn more I will be happy to send it to you. I have to search through my Dad’s stuff as well as try to get to my late Sister’s stuff. This is an enormous undertaking but since I am the last of my Dad’s children living, something is driving me.

Thanks for having this site. I look forward to hearing from you and will search your site further as I have time.
