Welcome to Dickson County, Tennessee

Dickson-Online was first established in 1996. At that time it was a small community site, housed on Mindspring.com. The site grew and in 1998 it became known as DCTN.com, home of Dickson County's Genealogy Project. Again the site grew. In 2003 it was decided that DCTN.com and Dickson-Online would merge, becoming the difinitive site for Dickson Countians to gather, find local information and news as well as a place for genealogists to search their roots.

Members are encouraged to submit reviews/recipes/tips & genealogy data by using the Submit News link in the left column. Tell us some of your favorite places around the county, what's worth seeing, where to eat, where to shop. Suggestions for new categories and sections are welcome. Feel free to email  me.

The news items published under this category are as follows.
Join descendants of the Pioneers of the First District of Williamson County, TN on August 26, 2006 for the long-awaited, first-ever reunion and discover new relatives and explore where we each fit into the big family. The reunion is being hosted by Heycuz, a genealogy online newsgroup whose members are all related on some level, most of whom are descendants of the pioneers of the First District. The original pioneer families of the First District of Williamson County include: Sullivan, Green, Stinson, Barnhill, Bradford, Beard, Walker, White, Oliphant, Carter, Duncan, Bryant, Overbey, Buttrey, Daugherty, Lampley, Jones, King, Givens, Pewit, Smith, Harrison, Hughes, Mangrum, Hall, Lankford, and Tidwell--to name a few. Originally, some of the First District was a part of Dickson and Hickman Counties, but when the Dickson, Hickman, and Williamson county lines were redrawn they all ended up in the First District of Williamson County.

Lampley Reunion 2004 2826 Reads Genealogy

Dear Lampley Cousins,

It?s time to start thinking ahead to the 12th annual reunion of descendants of James Lampley (London, Barbados, USA) and marking your calendars for June 12, 2004, Fairview Recreation Center in Fairview, TN. Because of the postal costs, we have reduced postal mailings to a list of 200 people who have expressed interest in the last two years. We will rely on you to forward this letter and further information to cousins you may know. Those who have provided us with an email address, will continue to get more updates and information than the US Postal mailing list.
